Music and Your Baby ::

In utero:

It is proven that babies in utero can hear and respond to music, but there is no significant evidence that the baby will benefit from the music.

There are 2 ways to let your baby listen to music while in the uterus. 1. Headphones – wrapping headphones around your belly is not a recommended way of letting your baby listen to music because most mothers put the music too loud and can over stimulate the baby. 2. Radio – just having a radio on and listening to music as you go about your day is a great way to let your baby hear music.

Singing to your baby yourself is a great form of bonding with your baby before he or she is here.

Once baby is born:

Again, there is no proof that singing to your baby or letting him or her listen to music will make him smarter, but rocking your baby and singing to him is a great way for the two of you to bond and help him learn your voice.
